Admin guide
This guide is for organization admins — the people who manage a team's users and agents in NetOpsNow.
Roles
Every member of your organization has one of three roles:
| Role | What they can do |
|---|---|
| Admin | Manage users and agents for the organization |
| Super user | Manage agents (generate/revoke keys, disconnect agents), run tools |
| User | Run tools |
Your own role is shown in the admin dashboard.
Managing users
Open the user menu (your avatar, top right) → Manage Users.
Inviting someone
- Click Add user and enter their email address.
- When they sign up (or next log in), they'll see a Join button for your organization — one click and they're in as a standard User.
Changing a role
Use the Role dropdown on a member's row to promote or demote them. Changes take effect immediately — no re-login needed.
Removing someone
Click the remove (trash) icon on their row. They lose access to your organization but keep their NetOpsNow account.
Disabling a login
Click the Disable (ban) icon to lock someone's account entirely — they'll see "This account has been disabled. Contact your administrator." on their next login. Re-enable restores access instantly. Disabling locks the login but keeps them in your member list; use Remove to take them out of the organization.
Managing agents
Open the agent panel by clicking the agent status indicator in the top bar (e.g. "2 agents online").
Generating agent keys
- Click Generate key (you can create several at once).
- Copy the key and use it when starting an agent on the target machine, together with your organization key.
- Each key supports a limited number of agents; generate one key per machine for clean tracking.
Revoking a key
Delete a key from the key list to revoke it. Any agent using that key is disconnected immediately and can't reconnect until it's given a new key.
Disconnecting an agent
You can also disconnect an individual agent from the agent list without revoking its key — it may reconnect on its own if it's still running.
Sandbox note
The public sandbox at sandbox.netopsnow.com is a shared demo organization: everyone can manage agents there, and everything is wiped daily at 00:00 UTC. Don't use it for anything you want to keep — create your own organization instead.
